Penmac Education Staffing is hiring Substitute Teachers and Substitute Paraprofessionals to support students and staff in the Houston R-I School District.Whether you’re looking to work a few days a month or want a more consistent schedule, substitute teaching gives you the flexibility to choose when you work while making a positive impact in your local schools.? Pay

$115.05 per full day
$125.00 per day for retired teachers
Weekly pay

? What You’ll Do

Follow lesson plans and help maintain a consistent learning experience
Create a positive, productive, and engaging classroom environment
Adapt to the needs of different students and classrooms
Supervise students in classrooms and common areas, including hallways, playgrounds, and cafeterias
Assign classwork and homework as needed
For long-term assignments, develop lesson plans aligned with the curriculum

✅ Qualifications
Candidates must:

Have at least 36 college credit hours in any subject OR complete a DESE-approved online training program
Hold a valid Missouri Teaching License or Substitute Certificate
Complete a fingerprint background check (please contact Penmac before beginning this step)
Pass a pre-employment drug screen (THC is not permitted)
Complete required Penmac training
